LA ISLA

“La Isla” is a project that documents with photographic images the essence of the creative act, records the initial gesture of the artist, the energy released by the sign that from imaginary translates in real, energy that delivers new souls, new subjects brought to life.

This project tries to demonstrate through the documentation of a creative event that in intrinsic characteristics of an island, in its behavioural DNA, are contained the fundamental qualities of creative language.

What is an island?
“It’s a place whence leave and return dreams”

Each artist collects himself and becomes an Island in the moment of creativity.

An Island feels strongly the communicative capacity and as the artist throws messages that are elaborated and come back enriched with new contents (ships merchants etc.).
In the DNA of an Island, in its cultural roots, are marked with greater vivacity those ancestral drives inherited from the need to communicate with the external.
These conditions approach and assimilate the artist in the act of conceiving a work and the meaning that an Island takes inside itself.
The fulfilment of this photographical attestation involved a double creative event, that one in becoming on paper support and that expressed with the use of parameters and creative settings of the photographic medium, that through the lens reshape the onirical reality of drawing in an onirical digital reality.

The presentation of this installation requires a notebook with 15’’ screen that will need to be positioned on the floor in the middle of a room. The 21 images will be planned for a loop vision and will unroll in succession every 10 seconds. On the pavement, scattered around the notebook will be arranged in a random way sheets of drawing paper (a sort of papery archipelago) with on a lead pencil to offer exhibition’s visitors the chance to give live to new souls.
